Setting up APN - Access Point Name

This post is regarding how to setup APN directly into modem settings.
APN or access point network is an address (may be url, ip address, or just words) given by your network providers for accessing internet. You can ask the customer care to get your apn or search in net. remember, capitalization and punctuation does matters.
  • Go to "control panel" and click "phone and modem options"
  • Check if your location and area code(std code) is correctly displayed.
  • Click on "modems" tab
  • Select your modem and then click properties
  • Check your modem(you can neglect this step).
  • Now click on the advanced tab and delete any the extra initialization command
  • Now in that space type
+CGDCONT=,,"yourapn"

  • Replace yourapn by the apn provided by your network provider
  • Click ok on all the dialogue boxes.
  • Done
